David Earl Gillespie, Taylor County, KY (1932-2013) He was a native of Bethel, Ohio. He was a veteran of the Korean War. After returning from the military he came to Campbellsville to attend Campbellsville College. He graduated from there in 1960 and the later received a Master's Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He also did graduate work at Western KY University, He taught in the Taylor County and Adair Co School Systems until retiring in the 1990's. He worked as Registrar and Business Manager at Campbellsville College for several years. He was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church for over 50 years. David's proudest achievement was teaching the Sunday School Class at Medco Nursing Home for 35 years. He still remembered many of the residents at his death. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosemary Hancock Gillespie. The funeral service will be Friday, July 5, 2013 at 11amCT/12pm noon CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY with Bro. Ken Foreman the officiating clergy. Visitation will begin Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 3pmCT/4pmET, at the funeral home. There will be no visitation on Thursday, July 4th; visitation resumes again on Friday morning after 6amCT/7amET, until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Interment will be in Cane Valley Cemetery, 83 Cane Valley Cemetery Road, Cane Valley, KY.
