Adair Co. School District has State's No. 1 Transportation Dept.

Adair County Transportation Director David Jones accepted a plaque from the Kentucky Department of Education designating the Adair County Transportation Department as top transportation department in the Commonwealth, Tuesday evening, June 25, 2013 at the annual awards banquet of the Kentucky Student Transportation Association in Louisville, KY.

Adair County Schools operates a fleet of 43 school buses and employs 43 full-time drivers. Adair County buses log nearly half a million miles per year. Accompanying Mr. Jones for the presentation were Floyd Burton, Chairman, Adair County Board of Education; John Shelley, Title I Coordinator; David Jones, Transportation Director; Linda Wilson, Secretary, Transportation Department Secretary; Becky Bailey, Administrative Assistant, Board of Education; Mike Akin, Retiring Title I Coordinator; and Alan Reed, Superintendent.
