Alma Mae Shaw Smith, age 93 of Edmonton, KY, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the Cumberland Co. Hospital, Burkesville, KY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 2pmCT/3pmET, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Tim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 2pmCT/3pmET, at the funeral home.



She was a homemaker and a daughter of the late Hayden and Beulah Frances Hurt Shaw.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Mary Elizabeth Froedge of Edmonton, KY

  • One grandchild: Frank Neal (Amanda) Froedge of Edmonton, KY

  • One great grandchild, Riley Paige Froedge
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Lola Shaw.
