Columbia man injured in motorcycle collision

A Columbia man was injured in a motorcycle collision Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2013, in the limits of Columbia.

The collision occurred when 63 year Jimmy Hughes of Columbia was operating a 1991 Suzuki motorcycle travelling east on Lancaster street and lost control, causing him to leave the right shoulder of the roadway, striking a parked vehicle in a private drive.

Hughes was treated for leg injuries at the scene by Adair County EMS and transported to Taylor County Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, KY, from the scene for further treatment. Columbia Police Department Ofc. Josh Brockman is investigating. Ofc. Josh Brockman
