Donald S. Murphy passed away Wednesday June 19, 2013 at his home in Greensburg, KY. He was 57.

Funeral services will be at 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Saturday June 22, 2013, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Dwight Coffman officiating. Burial will be in Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.



Donald S. Murphy, Casey County, KY (1955-2013)


Born Wednesday, August 3, 1955 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Murl and Effie Lay Murphy. He died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 57 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

Don was an owner and operator of Don's Small Engine Repair in Campbellsville and drove a semi for a number of years.

Survivors include;
  • His three children: Steven Murphy of Campbellsville, KY; Tina (and Scott ) Sparkman of Shepherdsville, KY; and Chris (and Trina ) Murphy of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Ashton Corbin, Abigail Slone and Kamry and Kelsey Murphy

  • Two step-grandchildren: Nathen and Brittney Sparkman

  • His longtime companion and caregiver: Darla Jefferies of Greensburg, KY

  • His sister: Mildred (and Verlin ) Monday of Anderson, Indiana

  • Two brothers: Mike (and Markeeta) Murphy of Forest, IN; and Walter (and Robin) Murphy of Liberty, KY

  • Two sisters-in law: Barbara and Monica Murphy both of Indiana

  • Brother-in-law: Mike Cochran of Hustonville, KY

  • and a host of nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Novella Phillips and Charolette Cochran and two brothers, Jerry and Ted Murphy.
