Louie Kensey Beard, age 67 years, departed this life on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 2:20pmCT after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Ken Jessee the officiating clergy. Intement will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 3:30pmCT/4:30pmET, Tuesday, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Jimmy David Burton, Joshua Dale Burton, Joseph Allen Jessee, Billy Wayne Keltner, Randy Coomer, and Junior Brown. Honorary Pallbearers: the men of the Portland Community, Milltown, KY.

Louie Kensey Beard, Adair County, KY (1945-2013)

He was the son of Caleb Powers and Nellie Posey Beard of the Portland Community, Milltown, Adair County, KY. He was born Tuesday, August 7, 1945. He had resided in Summit Manor Nursing Home for several years. He ded Sunday, June 2, 2013, at the age of 67 years, nine months, and 26 days. His wife, Judy Gail Burton Beard of 38 years survives.

He is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Jennifer Gail Bennett and her husband Joey of Columbia, KY.

  • One son: Jeremy Kensey Beard and his wife Rachel of Bronston, KY

  • Grandchildren: Louie was blessed with four grandchildren, Emily Brooke and Brayden Dale Bennett of Columbia, KY; and Jocelyn Grace and Jillian Kensley Beard of Bronston, KY

  • One sister: Leava Dean Coomer and her husband, Cordell
