Rethel Asbery, Casey County, KY(1916-2013)

She was a homemaker, farmer, and member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church. She was the widow of Daniel Grover Asbery. She leaves 22 direct living descendants

Rethel Asbery passed away Thursday May 30, 2013 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. She was 97.

Graveside services are 2pmCT/3pmET, Sunday June 2, 2013 at Poplar Grove Cemetery with Bro. Brent Huggins officiating followed with burial.

Born Sunday, March 24, 1916 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Bertha Rayborn Hale. She died Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the age of 97 years, 2 months, and 6 days.

She was a homemaker, farmer, and member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church.

Ms.Asbery is the widow of Daniel Grover Asbery.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: Shirley Chumbley of Danville, KY; and Barbara Johnson of Hustonville, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Six great great grandchildren
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy and Robert Asbery; a grandson, Bill Asbery ; three brothers, Fred, Francis, and Arnold Hale; and two sisters, Sadie and Vadie Hale.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
