Elsie Adrine England, 87, Knob Lick, KY (d. May 25, 2013)

She was the daughter of the late Ellie Vernon and Sarah Francis Poynter, a homemaker and life long member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Knob Lick. She was the matriarch of a large, respected Metcalfe County, KY, family. She leaves 21 direct living descendants

Funeral services will be 1pmCT, Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Asbury-Center Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Monday, May 27, 2013 at the funeral home.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Donny, and wife Paula England of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Two daughters: Brenda and husband Jim Henry of Crestwood, KY; and Peggy Duff of Glasgow, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Dewayne and wife Nelda Crews of Knob Lick, KY; and Michelle Downs of Louisville, KY; Donna and husband Chris Buchanan of Wichita, Kansas; Melissa and husband Matt Stevens of Rineyville, KY; Kelly and husband Jerry Hammontree of Elizabethtown, KY; Chris England of Louisville, KY; Brad Duff and friend Latisha Cox of Glasgow, KY; Ryan and wife Nikki Duff of Bowling Green, KY

  • Nine great grandchildren: Brittany Crews, Brandy and husband Derick Brewster, David Crews, Jordan and Megan Buchanan, Austin and Carter Stevens, Chase Brauner, and Conner Downs

  • One brother: Kenneth and wife Nora Poynter of Knob Lick, KY

  • One step great grandchild, Isaac Barnett

  • Four sister in laws: Flossie Chaney, Caroline Poynter, Margaret Poynter, Arcola Poynter

  • And several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles England, two brothers Maxie and Vernon Poynter, three sisters Bernice Edwards, Doris Calhoun, and Shirley Neal.

    Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
