Elroy Willis, Adair County, KY (1951-2013)

He was a native of Columbia, KY, and a resident of Shepherdsville, KY, at the time of his death. He was a member of Okolona Christian Church where he was an Elder and a teacher. He loved being a grandpa and his grandchildren were his life. Among those who preceded him in death include, his son, Benjamin Willis and his parents. He was the son of the late Roy and Annie Mae Thomas Willis of Adair County, KY. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Neal Willis. He leaves six direct living descendants.

Elroy Willis, 61, of Shepherdsville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 23, 2013.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 9amCT/10amET at Shoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy & Brooks Rd.), 4895 N Preston Hwy Shepherdsville, KY 40165, with burial in Penn Run Cemetery. Friends may their respects on Monday from 12pm-7pmCT/1pm-8pmET at the funeral home.

Mr. Willis was born Monday, September 17, 1951, in Columbia, Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Roy and Annie Mae Thomas Willis. He died Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, KY, at the age of 61 years, 8 months, and 6 days.

He was a member of Okolona Christian Church where he was an Elder and a teacher. He loved being a grandpa and his grandchildren were his life. Among those who preceded him in death include, his son, Benjamin Willis and his parents.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 42 years, Kathy Neal Willis, and the following:
  • Children: Stacey Stults (Rodney) and Jeremy Willis (Jami)

  • Grandchildren: Ben, Matt, Chloe and Paxton

  • Sisters: Scottie Halter and Linda Staples

  • And a host of other family and friends.
