Police pursuit of ATV ends when ATV leaves road, overturns

Rider, lodged in Adair County Regioal Jail faceing several charges, including possession of methamphetamine

An Adair County man was arrested early this morning after a pursuit inside the City Limits of Columbia. At approximately 12:46amCT, Tuesday, May 14, 2013, Columbia Police Deparment Ofc. Charles Greer observed a ATV traveling north on Burkesville Street. Ofc. Greer initiated traffic stop but suspect refused to stop and attempted to elude officers.



Pursuit came to a end when the 4-wheeler ran off roadway and turned over.

Arrested was 35 year old Timothy Vanardsdale, who was charged with Operating ATV on roadway, Fleeing and Evading 2nd degree motor vehicle, Possession Controlled Substance 1st degree (Methamphetamine ) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Vanarsdale was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail, Columbia, KY.

Ofc. Greer was assisted by CPD Sgt. Gary Roy and Deputy Aaron Rainwater.
