Taylor firefighters contain blaze at Tungate residence

Fire at two-story residence on Spurlington Road, Campbellsville, KY

On Monday, May 13, 2013 the Taylor County Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire at 5066 Spurlington Road at 10:12pmET. Upon arrival firefighters found the home of Thomas Tungate, a two story house, with heavy smoke showing from both floors. The fire appears to have started in the wall near the breaker box on the first floor and spread through the wall to the room above. Fire damage was contained to two rooms, the remainder of the house suffered smoke damage throughout. Firefighters were on the scene 2 1/2 hours. No injuries were reported. The fire department responded 4 apparatus and 24 personnel. Taylor County 911
