Metcalfe County Interim Superintendent Byron Jeffries was honored as the 2013 Metcalfe County Educator of the Year Award Recipient at the 17th Annual Metcalfe County Senior Celebrity Banquet hosted by the Edmonton-Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce.

Gary L. Richardson received the 2013 Metcalfe County Educator Idol of the Year Award.

Fourteen outstanding Metcalfe County Seniors were also honored and presented awards: Academic Team- Ryan Brown, Art -Sarah Pedigo; Band -Ashley Oakes ; FFA-Garett Judd ; Female Athlete-Riley Eskridge & Tayler McMurtrey ;Male Athlete- Cole Shive ; STLP- Austin Perkins ; HOSA-Candice Gossett; Top Scholars- Bryson Keltner, Tayler McMurtrey, and Holly Spradlin; 4-H- Aimee Young; Chamber Memorial Scholarship-Michael Garmon; and FRECC Scholarship-Bryson Keltner. - Gaye Shaw
