For the third year in a row, Hardscratch Country Store was honored to host Jake Hill's entire class for "Lunch in the Country".

Ms. Angie Aaron Hixson's 2nd Grade Class was invited to Hardscratch for a free lunch and a great time. Our wonderful, employees, Diana Roy and Janeatte Kelsay helped to prepare the meals, while Jake Hill flawlessly fulfilled his duties as both host and waiter.

In typical "country store" fashion, each student received a good plate lunch and a soft drink in a glass bottle.

After the meal and snacks, Jake and Ken Hill provided musical entertainment with songs played on guitar and mandolin.

Teachers: Ms. Vickie Hill, Ms. Hixson, Ms. Pam Phipps, and one of our favorite bus drivers, Ms. Kay Turner helped to get the children delivered safely, and on time.

Judging from the laughter, cheers, and heartfelt "thank you's", the trip to the country was a big hit. - Ken Hill
