A first for Adair Schools will be unveiled for media this morning First of its Kind Mobile Classroom already booked for appearance at National Event in Louisville, KY, in the coming school year. Special CM Education Story Adair County School Superintendent Alan Reed is holding a special press conference this morning at 8:30amCT, Monday, May 13, 2013, at board room of the Adair County School District, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, for local area media. The press conference has been billed as the unveiling of a special project, a new mobile classroom which will be used largely on the Adair School District campus for the Gifted and Talented students at the four (next year) Adair County Schools. The mobile classroom involves the use of student manufactured bio-diesel, solar, wind, and mobile wireless in a highly modified bus. A number of local groups have (or will) be involved including: Heather Spoon, LWC Energy Academy; Ms. Phyllis Curry, Supervisor of Instruction, and Ms. Pamela Geisellhardt, Gifted and Talented Coordinator/Teacher; Mr. David Jones, Transportation Director; Lake Cumberland Area Technology Center, Vocational Agriculture, Jeff Potts, and graphics designers, and Superintendent Reed, will be participating in the unveiling. The vehicle will be a first of its kind. "Nothing like this has been done before. We have already been asked for the presence of 'it'at the National Gifted and Talented Conference to be held in Louisville, KY, next school year," Superintendent Reed said. Local media will be letting the public know whether today's event will include only artists concepts of the completed classroom - built for a fraction of the cost of a brick and mortar one - or the actual mobile classroom.
