Click on headline for complete article with photo(s) By Vonnie Kolbenschlag Each year the General Federation of Women's Clubs - GFWC - has state art competitions for high school students. District winners' pieces are entered in the state competition. This year a sculpture created by Ashley Daniels won first place over all entries from Kentucky. The Columbia Woman's Club, part of GFWC/KY, submitted the sculpture entry. Our club is open to all women, whose purpose is community service - one of which is the arts. We thank art teacher, Debra Wimmer, for helping students create quality art pieces and for supporting our efforts in the competition. Each year we have local first place state winners from various categories.
