Elzie (Big Dee) Lawson, age 65 of Nobob, died Sunday May 5, 2012 at the Palace in Red Boling Springs, TN.

The funeral will be held at the White Cemetery Chapel in Sulphur Lick, Monroe County, KY, on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at 1pmCT, with burial to follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday May 7, 2013 at 1pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY.


He was a farmer and the son of Elzie Mitchell Lawson and Alline C. Miller Lawson White.

He is survived by the following:
  • Four brothers: Freddie, Mike (Becky) Lawson, Gary (Mary) Lawson of Summer Shade, KY; and Larry (Chop) (Doris) Lawson of Glasgow, KY

  • Two sisters: Rita (Randy) Anderson and Anita Lawson both of Summer Shade, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by brothers Sandy and Randall Lawson.

McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, in charge of arrangements.
