Mr. Grant B. Young, age 58, of Burkesville, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at The Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.

Funeral Services will conducted on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 1pmCT, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in the Burkesville Cemetery, N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. The family will receive friends after 3pmCT, Sunday, May 5, 2013 until the funeral hour on Monday.

He was born on Saturday, October 2, 1954 in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, the son of Allen Owsley and Lucille Long Young. He died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 58 years, 7 months, and 30 days.

He was the former Executive Director of The Burkesville Housing Authority, a member and former Deacon of Burkesville First Christian Church, and had his Bachelors Degree in English and History.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by the following:
  • His sons: Robert Morgan (and Megan) Young of Lexington, VA; Joseph Lee Young of Philadelphia, PA; and Tyler Grant Young of Richmond, KY

  • His siblings: William Owsley "Bill" (and Julie) Young of Phoenix, AZ; Carol Young Dickens of Burkesville, KY; Fayette Owsley "Doc" Young of Burkesville, KY; Helen Owsley Young and Jack Rudolph of Clarksville, TN; and Jean Allen Young of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Three nieces, seven nephews and two great nieces also survive
