James L. Simpson, Lincoln Co., KY native (1939-2013) A U.S. Marine through and through, Mr. Simpson honorably served his country in Korea and was with the 1st Marine Corps Strike in Vietnam. After the war, he attended Berkley and became a Master Mechanic and Welder. He leaves 18 direct living descendants James L. Simpson, Sr., 72, of Pittsboro, NC passed away at The Laurels of Chatham, Pittsboro, NC, Saturday, August 25, 2012. Graveside memorial services for Mr. Simpson will be at 12pmCT/1pmET Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Tapscott Cemetery in Casey County, KY, with military funeral honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad and the US Marines Honor Guard. There will be no visitation. James L. Simpson, Lincoln Co., KY native (1939-2013) He was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky, on Sunday, November 12, 1939. He was the son of the late Jesse James Simpson and Dorothy Tapscott. He died Saturday, August 25, 2012, in Pittsboro, Chatham County, NC, at the age of 72 years, 5 months, and 13 days. A U.S. Marine through and through, Mr. Simpson honorably served his country in Korea and was with the 1st Marine Corps Strike in Vietnam.
