Walter Stanley Forbis, Summer Shade, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at T J Samson Hospital, Glasgow, KY.

Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2013 after 3pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, and Tuesday, April 23, 2013, until 1pmCT. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 1:30pmCT, at White Cemetery in Monroe County, KY.

He was a farmer and a veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late Roger and Vestie Forbis.
He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: John Forbis, Summer Shade, KY; and Frank Forbis (Marilyn), Hopkinsville, KY

  • One grandchild: Amy L. Wilson (Jason), Elkton, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Jacey and Jamie Wilson

  • One sister: Lorene

  • Several nieces and nephews
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; one son, Henry; and three brothers.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
