Wildcat Oil Week Proclaimed in Columbia/Adair County, KY

PROCLAMATION
"WILDCAT OIL DRILLING WEEK"

Judge Executive Ann Melton and Mayor Mark Harris hereby issue this Proclamation in honor of the Backyard Oil TV show, which premieres Tuesday, April 23, 2013, on the Discovery Channel at 9:00 p.m. CST.

WHEREAS, Judge Melton and Mayor Harris proclaims the week of April 22nd as "Wildcat Oil Drilling Week, " for those in Adair County involved in the production of oil.

WHEREAS, Backyard Oil promotes the hardworking men and women of Adair County and surrounding counties involved in Wildcat Oil Drilling.

WHEREAS, sacrifices and fortunes are made by independent oil hunters willing to take chances with regard to where they drill. Wildcat drillers account for much of today's oil.

WHEREAS, the County of Adair and the City of Columbia encourages our residents to support the Backyard Oil TV show, on the Discovery Channel and all our residents involved in the Wildcat Oil Drilling.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Ann Melton, Judge Executive, County of Adair and I, Mark Harris, Mayor of the City of Columbia do hereby proclaim the week of April 22nd as a special time to show appreciation for our "Wildcat Oil Drillers" and proclaim it as;
"WILDCAT OIL DRILLING WEEK"
And we encourage all citizens to join us in showing our gratitude by watching the premiere of Backyard Oil TV show on the Discovery Channel, Tuesday April 23, 2012 at 9:00 p.m. CST.

Huge kickoff for Wildcat Drilling Week proclamation

Discovery Channel's Alex Byrnes thinking of staying

Six member crew filming for Discovery's Backyard Oil

They were filming the Proclamation signing ceremony making Premier week nationwide for Backyard Oil also "Wildcat Drilling Week," in Adair County, officially starting April 22, 2013, but it seems the celebration has already begun. The first episode will be Tuesday evening, April 23, 2013, at 9pmCT/10pmET.

Shootout in the Annex Basement

To the delight of the oilmen Discovery Channel Videographer John Kellernan and Adair Progress Editor Wes Feese had a "shootout." Part of the scene may be used in a future Backyard Oil promotion, part of it may be coming at an Adair Progress newsstand today or soon. It was part of the Proclamation signing event Tuesday, April 16, 2013, for "Wildcat Drilling Week," the week of April 22, 2013.
