Two drivers injured in Monday Columbia Bypass collision

Both drivers treated at scene, Bypass at Greensburg Road, and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital. One vehicle operated by Adair Countian, other by driver from Charlotte, NC

Columbia Police Department responded to an injury collision Monday afternoon, April 15, 2013, at approximately 2:45pmCT, at the intersection of Greensburg Road and the Veterans Memorial Bypass.



According to preliminary investigation a 2000 Jeep Cherokee being operated by 18 year old Amber Foster attempted to cross the Bypass onto KY 61 ramp and pulled into the path of a 2009 Chevy Cobalt operated by 23 year old Brittney Green of Charlotte, NC, who was travelling North on Bypass.

Both Foster and Green were treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital. CPD Ofc. Josh Brockman is investigating the collision and was assisted by Chief Jason Cross.

Agency's responding to the incident include: Columbia Police Department, Adair County Sheriffs Department, Adair EMS, Adair Search and Rescue as well as several Columbia-Adair County Firefighters who came upon accident. - Ofc. There was another injury accident at the intersection of Greensburg Street/Road and the Adair Veterans Memorial Bypass, this one on Monday afternoon, April 15, 2013. The white 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt was operated by Amber Foster, 18, of Columbia, KY; the black 2000 Cherokee was driven by Brittney Green, 23, of Charlotte, NC.
