The eternal romance of Romeo and Juliet will be presented April 18-21, 2013, at Lindsey Wilson College. The Lindsey Wilson Theatre Program will present William Shakespeare's masterpiece at 7:30pmCT April 18-20 and at 2pmCT April 21 in V.P. Henry Auditorium, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY.

The play is directed by LWC Assistant Professor of Theatre Robert Brock. "The students are real excited about producing the play because it's got everything - romance, sword fights, death and everything. It's a great play for college students to produce," Brock said.

Written more than three centuries ago, Romeo and Juliet tells the story of star-crossed teenagers Romeo and Juliet who fall in love despite coming from two feuding families. Brock has directed or been involved with the play several times on the professional level, and he said each time he learns something new about the classic.

"You discover new things with anything you do, but especially with Shakespeare because it's layered with so many references and meanings, many of which you don't get the first time through," he said.
