Bernia Janes Sparks Froedge, 90 (d. Apr. 10, 2013)

She was a member of a highly regarded family with strong ties in Metcalfe and Adair Counties, KY. She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Christian Church but attended the Edmonton Worship Center until her health failed. She was a long time employee of Edmonton Manufacturing and a homemaker.

Bernia Janes Sparks Froedge age 90 of Edmonton passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Friday, April 12, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Edmonton Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, Thursday, April 11 and after 9amCT/10amET, Friday, April 12, 2013, at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late Avery Baker Janes and Maggie Jessee Janes Cole.

She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Christian Church but attended the Edmonton Worship Center until her health failed. She was a long time employee of Edmonton Manufacturing and a homemaker.

She is survived by her son Herbert B. Sparks and wife Jan of Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • Two grandsons: Seth Boston Sparks and James T. Sparks and wife Janine

  • Two great grandsons: Jonas Noah Sparks and Julius Herbert Sparks

  • Two step children: Sandy Froedge, Barry Froedge and wife Pat
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Robert G. Sparks and second husband Haskell Froedge. Four brothers, Billie Janes, Renis Cole, Delbert Cole and L.C. Cole. One sister Novia Preece. A step son David Froedge.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
