Greater Bliss, KY: Excitement building on Backyard Oil Barons
By Victoria Pike Reporting from her little corner of heaven in the Greater Bliss Community I have been seeing ads for Backyard Oil Barons. How exciting to have Adair County in the spotlight in such a positive way. Best of luck to all those involved. Backyard Oil Barons Now that we are in the spotlight we need to get to work on cleaning our community up. I was very happy to see that the clean up has started on Campbellsville Road. A L and the crew were hard at work getting that end of the county in shape yesterday. Hats off to you hard working fellers. Now onto the cleaning up and mowing of the right of way out here on 61 S from the Cumberland Parkway bridge to Sparksville. What a mess. I understand that the right of way was not mowed last year due to it being under construction by High View and the state mowing crew can't go on property under construction. However, this past week I spoke with Mark Robertson, District 8 KY Transportation Dept., and was told the final inspection was to be done on Thursday of last week and the construction property be turned back to the state the following week. Hopefully we can get the trash picked up and the dead vegetation mowed as soon as possible. This just goes to show you that you never know who as looking at our county and we must ALWAYS put our best foot forward. I hope this will encourage all of our citizens to try to keep around their property mowed and the trash picked up. I am glad we have A L Sinclair and his crew and they do a wonderful job of cleaning up our county, but we must do better to keep it clean once the clean up is done. I challenge each and every one of you to do your part and pick up the litter that is around your property and keep it clean and mowed. I do on my little corner of heaven in the Greater Bliss community. - Victoria Pike This story was posted on 2013-04-05 05:20:06
