Irene Fern Owens, 76, of Russell Springs, KY, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service for Irene Owens will be 10amCT/11amET, Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Phillip Miller officiating. Friends may call after 6pmCT/7pmET, Sunday, March 31, 2013. Burial will be in the Owens Family Cemetery.


Pallbearers: Alan Owens, James Noel, Jason Noel, Colt Wilson, Coy Turner, and Devin Noel.

She was born Tuesday, March 12, 1937 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late George and Cordova Breeding Coffey. She died Friday, March 29, 2013, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 76 years, 17 days.

She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a son, William Coffey; a grandaughter, Destinee June Turner, and a brother, Norman Coffey. Survivors include the following:
  • Her husband: Dallas Green Owens

  • Three children: Eva Louise Turner, Mary Martha Noel, Alan Owens, all of Russell Springs, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • One sister: Millie Collins, Decatur, IL
