Clifton Lawrence Smith, age 75 of Summer Shade, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Monroe County Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 30 at 1pmCT, at White Chapel in Monroe County with interment in the White Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, March 29 at 2pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY.



He was a farmer and the son of the late Raymond Lawrence Smith and Mary Allen Fletcher Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Ethridge Smith, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Nancy Ellen Miller and Barbara Smith Hagan (Bobby) both of Summer Shade, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Cindy Miller Day (Jason) of Cub Run, KY; and Amy and Daniel Miller of Summer Shade, KY

  • And two great grandchildren: Jacie Day and Waylon Miller
In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by one son, Ricky Lawrence Smith.
