Alfred Higginbotham, 83, of Jamestown, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Russell County Hospital.

Funeral service for Alfred Higginbotham will be 2pmCT, Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Saturday, March 16, 2013, and after 10amCT Sunday, March 17, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Dixon Cemetery.

He was born Monday, July 11, 1929 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Omri and Edna Lawless Higginbotham. He died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Russell County Hospital, Jamestown, KY, at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 3 days.

He was a former sawmill worker and a member of the Union Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include the following:
  • Wife: Reba Maxine Shearer Higginbotham

  • Two children: Cathy Higginbotham, Richmond, KY; Mitchell (Brenda) Higginbotham, Jamestown, KY

  • One grandchild: Stephanie.
