Lois Dunbar , Russell County, KY (1924-2013)

She was saved at an early age and was a highly valued member of the Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church. She used her beautiful voice to sing the praises unto God. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Keith Dunbar. She leaves five direct living descendants. She will be sadly missed by her family, Church, and many friends.

Lois Dunbar, 88, of Hwy. 910, Russell Springs, KY, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

Funeral service for Lois Dunbar will be 10amCT, 11amET, Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richie Curtis and Rev. Casey Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Square Oak Cemetery. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET. Thursday at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers: Arvin Wilson, Steve McBeath, Kenny Popplewell, Kenneth McMahel, Greg Curtis,and Bruce Curtis.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jess Hinkle, C.V. tucker, Garnet "Cotton" McBeath, Thurlo Tucker, J.W. Hansford, Gary Cain, Ted Cain, Jim Cain, Joe Cain, Charles Newland, and Don Stamper.

Lois Dunbar , Russell County, KY (1924-2013)

She was born February 26, 1924 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Lona (Hart) Whittle. She died Tuesday, February 5, 2013, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 7 days.

She was a cashier at Lake Cumberland State Park and a member of the Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Flora Conn, Orpha Whittle and one, brother; Byron Whittle.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Keith Dunbar, and the following:
  • One daughter: Peggy (Larold) Gosser, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Chad Gosser, Chastity Beyl

  • Two great grandchildren; Haley and Avery Beyl

  • Sister in law: Imogene (Eugene) Popplewell, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two brothers in law: Sam Dunbar and Morris "Wooly" (Pearl) Dunbar

  • Special friends: Lindsey Wilson, Gabe Browning, and Christian Mascagni

  • And a number of neices and nephews
She was saved at an early age and was a faithful member of Pine Grove Separate Baptist church using her beautiful voice to sing praises unto God. She will be sadly missed by her family, Church, and many friends.
