Small but pretty Sunday snow - February 3, 2013

Snow album. Click on headline for item with photo(s).

There are several snow photos posted from various photographers for the dusting - at least right in Columbia - of snow this morning. There are a few more in the queue. There was only a ground covering at our location, but there seems to have been more on Dillon Street, a fence post cap at Clifty Creek Goat Ranch indicates they may have gotten an inch of snow.

So far, we haven't heard from the Alpine reaches of Adair County - Fairplay and Melson Ridge/Sparksville/Weed/Keltnertown - but there is generally more snow there than elsewhere. A clue that may be so is the cancellation of Sunday School (only - they're having church) at Sparksville Baptist Church, but so far - no picture proof.

If you have a snow photo you'd like in this album, submit it as a jpg attachment, with a detailed cutline, your name, and contact information (for CM only, unless you tell us to include it when we post attribution to you work.)

Flowers challenged by weather

2013-02-03 - Town Creek, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener.
These daffodils in my yard are getting a major challenge with freezing temperatures and snow. Far be it from me to sass Mother Nature but is it really fair to tease flowers to grow in 70 degree days only to zap them overnight with 14 degree days? - LW, Sunday, February 3, 2013
