Robert Wendell Fields, 74, Edmonton, KY (d. Jan. 28, 2013)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected family centered mostly around Metcalfe County, KY. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Forrest Fields. He leaves a total of 36 direct and step living descendants. He was the son of the late Thomas and Vergie Clemmons Fields. He was a retired truck driver, Korean War Veteran and member of the Wisdom Cumberland Presbyterian Church

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 S. Main Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Wednesday, January 30, 2013, and after 9amCT, Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Thomas and Vergie Clemmons Fields. He was a retired truck driver, Korean War Veteran and member of the Wisdom Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Forrest Fields, and the following:
  • Four children; Stephen (Jody) Fields of Monroe, MI. David (Maryanne) Fields of Bluffton, SC, Sandra Fields (Rick Geralds) of Edmonton, KY; and Estelle Rivera of Bowling Green, KY

  • Four step children; Terrell (Debbie) Burks of Lafayette, TN; Kim Burks (Chris) Jones of Glasgow, KY; Tracey Holland of Edmonton, KY; and Carla (Eddie) Russell of Glasgow, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Holly Fields, Amanda Spooneybarger, David Lewis Fields, Karen Dupuis, Robbie Simpson, Stephen Grissom, Michael Thomas and Beth Marquez.

  • Six step grandchildren; Rand LeMarinel, Tara Ervin, Tyler LeMarinel, Adam Russell, Katie Stinson and Aaron Russell

  • Fourteen great grandchildren: Chloe and Morgan Spooneybarger, Skylar Dupuis, Xavier, Xander and Xoey Simpson, Noah and Payton Grissom, Cruz, Jaylin and Rufio Marquez, Dunham Stinston, Iva Balzier and Mattie Ervin

  • One sister and brother: Birdie Parnell of Knob Lick, KY; and Tommy Fields of New Jersey

  • His brother in laws and sisters in law; Dwight and Carol Forrest of Knob Lick, KY; Charlotte and Mike Pruitt of Glasgow, KY
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother James Fields, his mother in law Myrtie Forrest and several half brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the New Liberty Cemetery.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
