Vernon Eugene Bagby, 72, departed this life Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service will be at Greensburg Baptist Church, 128 N. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, at 2pmCT/3pmET, Sunday, January 27, 2013. Visitation will be after 5pmCT/6pmET, Saturday and after 7amCT Sunday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W. Court Street, Greensburg, KY and after 12pm noon CT, Sunday at Greensburg Baptist Church. Rev. Blake Jessie and Rev. Todd Young will officiate. Interment will be in Greasy Creek Cemetery in Green County, KY.



Pallbearers: Jerry Rodgers, William Lee Bagby, Jackie Bagby, Byron Bagby, Jonathan Hawes, and John Tyler Bagby.

Vernon Eugene Bagby, Green County, KY (1940-2013)


Vernon Eugene Bagby was born Wednesday, December 11, 1940 in Green County, KY. He was the son of the late Beckham and Lela Acree Bagby. He departed this life Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Greensburg, Green County, KY, having attained the age of 72 years, 1 month and 13 days.

Vernon had made a profession of faith in Christ and served as deacon, trustee and held other various positions at the Greensburg Baptist Church. He was a former Green County Judge and Funeral Director and Embalmer at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: James, Ellis and Ruppert Bagby and Dimple Mosz. He was united in marriage to Elva Jo Rodgers Bagby, who survives. He is also survived by the following:
  • One brother and sister in law: Jr. and Clydene Bagby, Campbellsville, KY

  • One sister: Lassie Schmidt, Campbellsville, KY

  • His father in law and mother in law: Kenneth and Naomi Ruth Rodgers of Campbellsville, KY

  • His brother in law and sister inlaw: Jerry Wayne and Anita Rodgers of Campbellsville, KY

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends.
The family has requested donations be made to Greensburg Baptist Church Christian Life Center. These can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
