Mary Louis Helm, Adair County, KY (1947-2013)

She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a member of a large, respected family. She was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Estelle Corbin Ford. She leaves five direct living descendants and 11 siblings. Two brothers preceded her in death

Mary Louis Helm, 65, of Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 5amCT/6amET, at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services are Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10amCT/11amET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Visitation is after 5pmCT/6pmET, Thursday, January 24, 2013.


Casket Bearers: Mark Foster, Stevie Foster, Michael Burton, Anthony Burton, Rodney Ford, Jamie Ford, Jerry Ford, Jeff Ford, Josh Ford, Troy Ford, Jason Ford, and Daniel Lawhorn.

She was born Monday, October 13, 1947, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Estelle Corbin Ford. She died Tuesday, January 22, 2013, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 65 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles and Billy Ford.

Survivors include:
  • Two children: Lisa Smith of Columbia and Chris Brown of Louisville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Matthew Owen, Angaleea Smith and Caleb Brown

  • Seven sisters: Linda Hutchison, Janet Foster, Darlene Lawhorn, Teresa Burton, Shelia (Barry) White, Betty Greer and Lorena Smith all of Columbia, KY

  • Four brothers: James (Jessie) Ford, Donnie (Diane) Ford, Gary Ford and Ronald Ford all of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
