Edna Marie Jessie, 67, Glasgow, KY (d. Tues. Jan. 1, 2013)

She was the matriarch of a large, respected South Central Kentucky family, the daughter of the late Curt and Clora Poore England and the wife of Johnie D. Jessie, who survives. She leaves 24 direct living descendants. She was a homemaker

Edna Marie Jessie age 67 of Glasgow died Tuesday, January 01, 2013 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT/2pmET, Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Bragg Cemetery, Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, Wednesday, January 2, 2013, and after 9amCT/10amET, Thursday at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late Curt and Clora Poore England. She was a homemaker and wife of Johnie D. Jessie of Glasgow who survives.

Besides her husband she is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Ricky (Felicia) Jessie of Glasgow, KY; Danny (Glenda) Jessie of Edmonton, KY; and Gary Jessie of Glasgow, KY

  • Four daughters: Shelia (Willie) Jones, Lisa (Lynn) Rich, Terri (Tommy) Neal and Juanita (Allen) Hagan all of Glasgow, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren: Karly Jessie, Eric (Beth) Jessie, April (Chris) Shaw, Brittany Jessie, Tiffany (Will) Gray, Nikki Jones, Brandon Rich, Tanya (Rob) Slack, Tosha Neal, Cameron Neal, Ashley Hagan and Chase Jessie

  • Five great grandchildren: Dalton Jessie, Robbie Slack, Anna Slack, Lane Jennings and Tucker Jennings

  • Two sisters: Daisy Jessie of Edmonton and Rosie Poynter of Indiana

  • Three brothers: Hobert England and Ernest England of Indiana, Larry England of Edmonton, KY
She was preceded in death by one sister Pearl Jessie and four brothers. William Jessie, Luther Rowe England, Edward Jessie and Curtis England.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
