Alice Courter, Russell Co., KY (1923-2012)

She was a native of Peoria, Ohio, and lived in Russell County, KY, at the time of her death. She will be returned to her Ohio home for services and interment. She was a grocery clerk at IGA and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marysville, Ohio. She was the mother of Bonnie Rings of Russell Springs, and the matriarch of a highly regarded family with widespread family ties. She leaves 10 direct and three step living descendants.

Alice Courter, 89, of Frontage Rd., Russell Springs, died Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services for Alice Courter will be 11amCT/12pm noon ET, Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Mannasmith Funeral Home, 621 West 5th Street, Marysville, Ohio, Phone 937-642-1751. Visitation will be after 9amCT/10amET. Wednesday, at the Mannasmith Funeral Home. There will be no local visitation at Bernard Funeral Home, Russell Springs, KY.

She was born Friday, August 24, 1923 in Peoria, Liberty Township, Union County, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Alfred & Matilda (Kliebler) Steirhoff. She died Saturday, December 29, 2012, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, a the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 5 days.

She was a grocery clerk at IGA and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marysville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include the following:
  • One daughter, Bonnie (Dave) Rings, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Kyle (Heather) Potts, Dallas, TX; Christina (Josh) Turner, Glasgow, KY

  • Three step grandchildren

  • Seven great grandchildren
The family requests memorials to Russell Springs United Methodist Church Building Fund. These can be made at the Bernard Funeral Home.
