She was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident of Richmond, KY, at the time of her death. She was a member of a large, respected family with deep roots in Taylor, Adair, and Green Counties of South Central Kentucky. She professed her hope in Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church

Judy Carol Johnson, 56, of Richmond, KY, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at 3:30 amET, at her residence.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 31, 2012 at 2pmCT/3pmET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home , 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with David Mitchell officiating. Burial in Green County Memory Gardens in Summersville, KY. Visitation will be after 11:30amCT/12:30pmET, Monday.



Casket Bearers: Shawn Johnson, Ethan Woolridge, David Johnson, Denny Anderson, Vince Willis, and Jason Crume.

Judy Carol Johnson, Taylor Co., KY native (1956-2012)


She was born January 11, 1956, in Taylor County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Roy Johnson and Ruth Hortense Diddle Johnson, who survives of Columbia, KY. She died Friday, December 28, 2012, in Richmond, Madison County, KY, at the age of 56 years, 11 months, and 17 days.

She professed her hope in Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Willie and Rosie Johnson, maternal grandparents, Bruce Diddle and Suzie Johnson, four aunts and two uncles.

In addition to her mother, survivors include:
  • Two sisters: Jane Johnson of Richmond, Sharon (Vince) Willis of Columbia, KY

  • Two nieces: Trevia Johnson and Deshana Woolridge

  • Two nephews: Shawn Johnson and Ethan Woolridge

  • Three great nieces and three great nephews

  • Three uncles: George Junior Johnson of Campbellsville, KY; Oatha Johnson of Columbus, OH, Charlie Junior Caldwell of Greensburg, KY

  • One aunt: Dolores Ray of Indianapolis, IN

  • Several other relatives and friends
