Poetry by Robert Stone: Socks, a villanelle

Socks
- a villanelle for the birthday of Barrett Griffin
Check the clocks
getting late
put on socks.

Loving rocks
special date
check the clocks.

Rainbow frocks
no debate
put on socks.

Gentle knocks
no more wait
check the clocks.

Undo locks
friend elate
put on socks.

Open box
celebrate
check the clocks
put on socks.
