Holiday Classic Basketball: Adair 72, Green 48

Adair Co. meets Anderson County in championship round tonight. Other scores: Hart 65, Campbellsville 55. Cumberland 78, Washington 57. Anderson 66, Monroe 53. All Adair County Pep Club members and all boys and girls middle school players will be admitted free.

News from Adair County High School athletics

Led by the hot shooting of Jayden Willis who connected on all five of his first period shots including two three pointers the Adair County Indians jumped out to a 22-8 first period lead and never looked back as they defeated regional rival Green County for the second time this season, this time by a score of 72-48. Willis finished with a team high 23 points. Rounding out the scoring were Chance Melton 11 points, Zach Hutchison 9, Kel Stotts 7, Jake Hixson 6, Colton Back 6, Gabriel Alfaro 3, Trevor Willis 2, Matt Fudge 2, and Marshall Shelley 1. Also seeing action were Ty Bennett, Jacob Pooler, Kyle Burton, Aaran Taylor, and Trent Jones. Melton had six rebounds and Fudge handed out seven assists.



In other second round games Hart County defeated Campbellsville 65-55, Cumberland County downed Washington County 78-57, and Anderson County defeated Monroe County 66-53.

Four games will be played Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the John Burr Memorial Gym, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY, wrapping up the Indians holiday classic.
