Demaris Holt age 92 years of the Sulphur Creek Road, Columbia, Ky. passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 9:55pmET, at Casey County Hospital Liberty, KY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11amCT/12pm noon ET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. David Coffey and Bro. J. Richard Lehman, the officiating clergy. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery, 131 New Hope Cemetery Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT/5pmET at the funeral home.


Demaris Holt, Adair County, KY (1920-2012)

She was born on Monday, October 18, 1920 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN. She was the daughter of the late James and Eva Williams Whited. She died Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 92 years, 2 months, and 1 day. She was the widow of L. L. "Jack" Holt who preceded her in death on March 3, 1994; she was also preceded in death by two sons , James Gregory "Greg" Holt and Billy Joe Holt, one brother James Whited, and one sister, Mona Cass.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Dallas "Buddy" Holt of Columbia, KY, and David Holt of Monticello, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Seven great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews

  • And a host other relatives and friends
She was a member of New Hope Separate Baptist Church and worked at Shepherd Grade Center. Send a condolence to the family of Demaris Holt
