Adair FFA leaders discuss farm issues with Commissioner Comer

News from the Adair County FFA Chapter

FFA officers along with several other local farmers and business leaders met with Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture, James Comer, Saturday morning, December 8, 2012 at Circle R restaurant, 712 Russell Road, Columbia, KY to discuss local agriculture issues.

Local chapter officials in attendance were Cody Neat, Sentinel; Trey Spinks, Historian; Evan Shirley, Parliamentarian; Trent Sparks-Reporter; Jameson Keen, Vice President; and Eric VanArsdale-Secretary.



Commissioner Comer, a native of Tompkinsville, was in the area today and wanted to meet with local leaders in agriculture. Some of the issues discussed include improving markets for local products, increasing regulatory requirements for farmers, potential legalization of industrial hemp, and the need to strengthen our local 4-H and FFA programs.
