Beldon Marshall Allen, Cumberland Co., KY (1934-2012)

He was a native of Cumberland County, KY and the patriarch of a large, highly regarded family. He is survived by his wife Christine Riddle Allen. He leaves 18 direct living descendants. He was a farmer, a member of the Palestine United Methodist Church, and a member of the Coon Hunting Club.

Beldon Marshall Allen, age 78, of Burkesville, KY, passed away on Sunday December 2, 2012 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 2pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N. Main Street, Burkesville, Ky. Burial will be in the Rose of Sharon Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, December 3, 2012 after 1pmCT at Norris-New Funeral Home until time of service on Tuesday.



Beldon Marshall Allen, Cumberland Co., KY (1934-2012)


He was born in Cumberland County, KY on Sunday,February 4, 1934, the son of Harve and Meldie Owens Allen. He died Sunday, December 2, 2012, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 28 days.

He was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church, a farmer, and a member of the Coon Hunting Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Allen and Horace Allen, his infant brother, Glen Allen, his sister, Margie Young and his son-in-law, Mark Collins.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Riddle Allen of Burkesville, KY, and the following:
  • His children: Donna Allen of Burkesville, KY; Tammy (and Kenny) Hurt of Burkesville, KY; Kelly Collins of Celina, TN; Terry (and Robin) Poindexter of O'Fallon, IL: Jimmie (and David) Bean of Burkesville, KY; and Libbie (and John) Drake of Frankfort, KY

  • His brothers and sister: Roy (and Christella) Allen of New Castle, IN; Clifton (and Drusilla) Allen of Burkesville, KY; Reba (and Doug) Martin of Campbellsville, KY: and Lola Hale of Glasgow, KY

  • His grandchildren: Barbara Jo Wright, Christy Hunt, Alisha Wheat, Waylon Riddle, Adam Poindexter, Sarah Bean, Hannah Drake, Megan Drake, and Palmer Drake

  • His great grandchildren: Jacob Wright and Carly Beth Hunt

  • And his great great grandchild, Connor Wright
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a book be donated to a public library.
