Lloyd Means, Casey County, KY (1940-2012)

He was a native of Lincoln County and a resident of Casey County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the patriarch of a large, respected family. He leaves 24 direct living descendants. He was a farmer and a member of the Mt. Salem Baptist Church.

Lloyd Means passed away Sunday November 18, 2012 at the Liberty Care Center, Liberty, KY. He was 72.

Funeral services will be at 10amET/9amCT, Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation is after 8amET/7amCT, Tuesday until time of services at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jim Meinking, Charles Hayden, Donnie Means, Clint Noe, Daniel Cole, and Roger Means.

He was born February 27, 1940 in Lincoln County, KY. He was the son of the late Julius and Stella Martin Means. He died Sunday, November 18, 2012, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 72 years, 8 months, and 19 days.

He was farmer and member of the Mt. Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include the following:
  • His sons: Greg (Jenny) Means and Barry (Brenda) Means, both of Liberty, KY; and Brian Means of Yosemite, KY

  • His daughter: Tami Campbell of Yosemite, KY

  • His brothers: Harold Sonny Means of Liberty, KY; and Donald Means of Lancaster, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Troy Means and Jeffrey Cochran; brothers, Bobby and Joey Means; sisters, Elsie Wooten, Anna Godbey, Helen Garrett, Mary Dotson, Marie Ephley, and Barbara Fair; and two great grandchildren.
