Smokie: Downtown Columbia has lost a dear friend

Jim Hitt writes:
We have lost a prominent member of Columbia's society, Saturday, November 10, 2012: Smokie, a close friend and companion of Dan Affolter (of the Breeding community) passed away this morning.

To those of you who were "Smokie Watch" friends: Be assured you have had the privilege of meeting and knowing one the finest example of man's best friend.

To Dan: I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Busy, busy, Downtown Columbia, KY on a Friday night

2012-11-11 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Cook it good and they will come - There was parking and, praise be, Double Parking on the Square in Downtown Columbia on Friday night, November 9, 2012, as diners coming to the three downtown restaurants filled all the parking spaces on the west side of the Square, and many of the others. But there is this sad note: Smokie, the Downtown Dog of the Night, died the next day, Saturday, November 10, 2012. - Ed Waggener
