Virgie Popplewell Zimmerman, Russell Co., KY (d. Nov. 4, 2012) She was a member of a large, respected Russell County, KY, family. She was a devoted wife and homemaker Virgie Popplewell Zimmerman, age 84, of Somerset, KY, formerly of Russell Springs, KY, passed from this life on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at her home in Somerset. Funeral services for Virgie Zimmerman will be at 1pmCT, Wednesday, November 4, 2012, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Herman Hamilton the officiating clergy and special music by Willena Hamilton. Burial will be in the Square Oak Cemetery. Friends may call after 11amCT, Wednesday at the Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, KY. Mrs. Zimmerman was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Odell Zimmerman who died, June 9, 2012 ; her parents, John Elmore and Nellie Mae Johnson Popplewell; and 11 siblings, Mary Eva Bolin, Mollie "Affie" Wilson, Oval Popplewell, James Milton "Jim" Popplewell, Ina Hughes, Estel John Popplewell, Farris Lee Popplewell, Etta Belle Harris, John "J.R." Popplewell, Edward Hugh Popplewell, and Virthel "Grant" Popplewell. Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
