Amee Montgomery Paxton, Green Co., KY (1946-2012)

She was a matriarch of a highly regarded Green County family with strong ties in Adair County and elsewhere. She and her husband Garland Paxton, who survives, were blessed with a marriage which endured a remarkable 66 years. She leaves 10 direct living descendants. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She had worked at Fruit of the Loom, Inc. in Campbellsville as a seamstress and a machine operator

Mrs. Amee Montgomery Paxton of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Charlie Montgomery and Laura Elsie O'Banion Montgomery, was born on Sunday, April 28, 1926 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg. She was 86 years, 6 months and 11 days.

The funeral service for Mrs. Amee Montgomery Paxton will be conducted at 10amCT, Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery, by Bethlehem Baptist Church, 526 Temperance Road, Greensburg, KY. Bro. Landon Hadley will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pm-8pmCT, Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Friday until time of the funeral services.



Pallbearers: Jerry Powell, Billy Parson, James Paxton, Eddie Paxton, David Murray, and Garland Hayes.

Mrs. Amee Montgomery Paxton of Greensburg, Kentucky was the daughter of the late Charlie Montgomery and Laura Elsie O'Banion Montgomery. She was born on Sunday, April 28, 1926 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, October 29, 2012 in Greensburg, Green County, KY. She was 86 years, 6 months and 11 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She had worked at Fruit of the Loom, Inc. in Campbellsville as a seamstress and a machine operator.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Garland Paxton, having united in marriage in May of 1946.

She is also survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and a son in law: Gloria Jean Dangerfield of Cave City, KY; and Sherlene and Jimmy Todd of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Karen Hardin of Indiana, Melinda Dangerfield of Cave City, KY; Patrick Todd and wife Sarah of Columbia, KY; and Kristen York and husband Steve of Columbia, KY

  • Four great-grandchildren: Gracie Todd, Reed Thorton, Jackson Todd and Megan York.

    She is also preceded in death by a brother: Thurman Montgomery; a son-in-law: Udell Dangerfield; a great-granddaughter: Claire York.

    The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
