Poetry by Robert Stone: Some between, a sonnet

Some Between
A sonnet not written for, but appropriate for Halloween/All Saints Day
Ideas not yet formed and words not said --
creations now exposed and spoken words --
from fledgling falls to flying wings outspread --
some go between impels both us and birds.

The joys of hope and fears of failing plans --
accomplishments at ease and growth with pain --
from childlike faith to grownup doubts and bans -
- some went between the shades that wax and wane.

The growing sense of ignorance with age --
the will to wait hard learned with passing time --
from early bloom to aging's final stage --
some gone between await our fate sublime.

Unequal in all aspects are we made
yet each leaves imprints that will never fade.

- Robert Stone, Sunday, 12 October 2008
