Alice Marie Thurman Carter, age 75, of Glasgow, KY, formerly of Burkesville, KY, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at her residence in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 1pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with burial in the Dutch Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5pmCt on Monday, October 29, 2012 until the service time on Tuesday.



Alice Marie Thurman Carter, Burkesville, KY (1937-2012)

She was born on Sunday, September 19, 1937 in the Snow Community of Clinton County, KY. She was the daughter of Robert "Bob" and Ressie Ellen Morland Thurman. She died Sunday, October 28, 2012, at the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 9 days.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Carter and her brother, Bobby Junior Thurman.

Survivors include:
  • Her children, William Harold Young of Glasgow, KY, David Alan (and Deborah) Young of Washington, North Carolina; Alice Ann (and Robert) Young of Cookeville, TN; and Sharee Ellen (and Dean) Fields of Edmonton, KY

  • Her brother: Gordon (and Lula) Thurman of Glasgow, KY

  • Her sister, Wanda (and Billy) Cole of Burkesville, KY

  • Her grandchildren: Amy, Tenisha, Robert Lewis, Joseph, Matthew and Alysia

  • Her great-grandchildren, Shaylee, Christian, Logan, Kolton and Zoe

  • Her sisters in law, Nelda (and Ralph) Cash of Burkesville, KY; Minnie Bell (and Alden) Thurman of Gas City, IN,; Cassie Thurman of Albemarle, North Carolina

  • Her brothers in law: Lonnie (and Betty) Carter of Burkesville, KY; Homer (and Francis) Carter of Glasgow, KY

  • Her special friends: Linda, Rachel and Michelle
