AC Dispatcher has been suspended without pay following arrest

From WHVE and ColumbiaMagazine.com

Adair County Judge Ann Melton has suspended Adair County Dispatcher James O. Absher without pay following Absher's arrest and incarceration at the Adair County Jail for alleged "promotion of a sexual performance by a minor."

The arrest was made Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Columbia. This morning, Wednesday, October 24, 2012, Absher was awaiting transfer to LaRue County, where the incidents allegedly took place.

At the time of his arrest, Absher was a resident of Elizabethtown, KY.

Judge Melton said she was following the Adair County Administrative Code of Ethics related to the situation, which requires suspension without pay in such instances. She said that the suspension will not affect full coverage at the 911 center. "We have all shifts covered," she said.
