LWC Women's Soccer jumps to No. 2 in national rankings By Chris Wells News from Lindsey Wilson College KANSAS CITY, MO - Lindsey Wilson College moved up one spot to No. 2 in the latest NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top-25 Poll, released by NAIA officials on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. The Blue Raiders (12-2-1) move up after spending five consecutive weeks at No. 3. Lindsey Wilson received 563 voting points and one of the 21 first-place votes from the national raters. Lindsey Wilson won its 10th straight match on Tuesday night with a 7-0 win over University of Pikeville. The win secured the Mid-South Conference regular season title for the Blue Raiders for the 13th straight season. Lindsey Wilson is making its 145th straight appearance in the national poll -- the longest current active streak in the Top 25 according to the NAIA. Lee (Cleveland, TN) University is the new No. 1 team after the previous top-ranked team, Concordia (Portland, OR) University, lost last week. Lee received 590 voting points and 19 first-place votes while Concordia garnered 559 voting points and the final first-place vote. The poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches from each conference, independent and unaffiliated group. The next women's soccer poll is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
