Leona Scholl, 63, Russell Co., County, KY (1948-2012)

She was a native of Adair County, KY, a member of a very large, highly regarded family. Besides her husband, Dick Scholl, she leaves 10 direct living descendants among her many survivors. She was a resident of Russell County, KY and had deep strong roots in Russell, Adair, and Taylor Counties of South Central Kentucky and beyond. She was employed by Walmart and by Fruit of the Loom. She was a member of Columbia Christian Church. Interment will be at Freedom Cemetery in Eastern Adair County, KY

Leona Scholl, 63, Russell Springs, KY, died Sunday, October 21, 2012, at 2:30amCT, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY.

The funeral will be at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E. Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY, at 10amCT, Thursday, October 25, 2012, with Bro. Terry White and Anita Roy officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery, Columbia, KY.

She was born November 14, 1948, in Columbia, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Finis Neat and Ruby Dye Neat, who survives, of Elkhorn, KY. She died Sunday, October 21, 2012, at 2:30amCT, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 63 years, 11 months, and 7 days.

She was employed with Walmart and Fruit of the Loom.

She was a member of the Columbia Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Scholl, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Tin wife of Steve Ranquist, Elizabeth, CO; Charlene, wife of Jim Scott, Russell Springs, KY; and Michelle, wife of Byron Smith, Columbia, KY

  • Seven Brothers: Frank Neat, Russell Springs, KY; Edward Neat, Hamilton, OH; Fred Neat, Elkhorn, KY; Elba Neat, Campbellsville, KY; Wilbert Neat, Campbellsville, KY; Coy Neat, Campbellsville, KY; and Randall Neat, Tampa, FL.

  • Eight sisters; Alene Long, Liberty, KY; Mary York, Russell Springs, KY; Wanell Pointer, Tampa, FL; Patti Stuck, Tampa, FL; Jolene Sullivan, Campbellsville, KY; Wilma Burton, Campbellsville, KY; Joanne McDaniel, Tampa, FL; and Barbara Moore, Campbellsville, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Asya Girdler, Vail Ranquist, Teayra Ball Price, Brittany Scott, Hanna Scott, trevor Smith and Taylor Smith
She was preceed in death by her first husband, Roy Ball, in 1992; her father, Finis Neat; and a sister, Shirley Abner.

Burial will be in the Freedom Cemetery, 576 Freedom Church Road, Columbia, KY.

The Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E. Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
