Stephanie Caluag Wins Women's Dual Slalom National Title Coach David Grigsby's Lindsey Wilson Cycling ends 6th at Mountain Bike Nationals. Stephanie Caluag is 13th Blue Raider Cyclist to win the national title for Lindsey Wilson College Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Chris Wells Cycling news from Lindsey Wilson College ANGEL FIRE, NM - Stephanie Caluag became the second Lindsey Wilson College cyclist to capture an individual title at the USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships. Caluag won the Women's Dual Slalom national title, Sunday, October 21, 2012, beating former teammate and 2011 national champion Crystal Kalogris in the finals. During qualifying, Caluag recorded the third fastest time to advance to the 16-woman tournament-style bracket. She cruised into the finals where Kalogris - who transferred to Marian (Indianapolis, IN) University to move closer to her family over the summer - waited. Caluag won the first run of the two-race finals by 7-tenths of a second and secured the national title with another win during the second run. She becomes the 13th cyclist to win the national title for the Blue Raiders and the second in as many days. J.D. Swanguen won his first national title on Saturday in the Downhill championships. Lindsey Wilson's Brooke Crum recorded a seventh place finish in the event falling to Kalogris in the quarterfinals. While Caluag and Crum competed on the women's side, five Blue Raiders made their run at winning the Men's Dual Slalom. Swanguen and Logan Collins each advanced to the semifinal round before falling. Swanguen eventually added a bronze medal to his Stars and Stripes finish from Saturday with a third place finish in the Dual Slalom. Danny Caluag reached the quarterfinals of the event while Josh Patton and Ace Savarese reached the Round of 16. With today's finishes, the Blue Raiders moved to sixth place in the Team Omnium -- one spot off the podium. Lindsey Wilson finished 412 team points over the three-day championships. Fort Lewis (Ft. Lewis, CO) College won the team title with 701 points.
